r8ib Instance Family
Description #
The R8ib instance family, generally available since April 16, 2026, features custom Intel Xeon 6 processors (Granite Rapids) such as the 6975P-C with a sustained all-core turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz. Built on the AWS Nitro System v6, these memory-optimized instances provide up to 100 Gbps of networking and enhanced EBS bandwidth for high-performance block storage. They lack local instance storage and are specifically designed for mission-critical, memory-intensive workloads like large-scale databases and real-time analytics requiring superior I/O throughput.
