r8id Instance Family
Description #
The R8ID family, generally available since mid-August 2025, extends the memory-optimized R8i line with local NVMe SSD instance storage for high-speed, low-latency I/O. They feature custom Intel Xeon 6 processors with a sustained all-core turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz and DDR5 7200 MT/s memory for 2.5x more memory throughput. R8ID instances support up to 100 Gbps of networking, 80 Gbps of EBS bandwidth, and include a 4.6x larger L3 cache and Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) support on the largest sizes.
