i4i Instance Family
Description #
The storage-optimized I4I family, generally available since April 2022, features 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake) processors with a 3.5 GHz all-core turbo frequency. They offer up to 30 TB of local NVMe storage from custom AWS Nitro SSDs, delivering up to 60% lower storage I/O latency than I3 instances. Networking provides up to 75 Gbps, with 40 Gbps of EBS bandwidth, and the largest size supports Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA). The instances also utilize Intel Total Memory Encryption (TME) for always-on memory encryption.
