r8i-flex Instance Family
Description #
The R8I-FLEX instance family, generally available since August 2025, is powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors (3.9 GHz all-core turbo). These cost-effective, memory-optimized instances offer 2.5x greater memory throughput and a 4.6x larger L3 cache than the R7i generation. Utilizing 6th-gen AWS Nitro Cards, they provide up to double the network and EBS bandwidth with a dynamic allocation feature. R8I-FLEX is EBS-optimized, making it a great choice for in-memory databases and distributed web-scale cache stores.
