r9gd Instance Family
Description #
The r9gd instance family, introduced in 2026, features custom-built AWS Graviton5 processors based on a 3nm process with up to 192 Arm cores. These memory-optimized instances include high-speed local NVMe SSD block storage and offer a 1:8 vCPU-to-memory ratio. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they deliver enhanced networking and EBS bandwidth along with Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) support on larger sizes, making them ideal for memory-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases, distributed caches, and real-time data analytics.
