Description #
The R9g instance family, introduced in 2026, is powered by custom AWS Graviton5 processors built on 3nm Arm architecture with up to 192 vCPUs. These memory-optimized instances offer a 1:8 vCPU-to-memory ratio utilizing high-speed DDR5 memory, making them ideal for in-memory databases, distributed caching, and real-time big data analytics. They are EBS-only with no local instance storage and feature enhanced networking bandwidth alongside high dedicated Amazon EBS throughput powered by the AWS Nitro System.
