The Amazon EC2 F2 instance family, generally available since December 11, 2024, features up to 8 AMD Virtex UltraScale+ HBM VU47P FPGAs and are the first FPGA-based instances to feature 16GB of high-bandwidth memory. They are powered by 3rd generation AMD EPYC (Milan) processors with up to 192 vCPUs and provide up to 100 Gbps of networking bandwidth. F2 instances can have up to 7.6 TiB of NVMe SSD storage and are ideal for FPGA-accelerated solutions in genomics, multimedia processing, big data, and network security/acceleration.
