c7i Instance Family
Description #
The C7i instance family, generally available since September 14, 2023, is a compute-optimized series powered by custom 4th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Sapphire Rapids, Platinum 8488C) with a 3.2 GHz all-core turbo frequency. These instances utilize DDR5 memory and offer up to 50 Gbps of networking and 40 Gbps of EBS bandwidth, supporting up to 128 EBS volume attachments. They feature Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) for CPU-based ML and, in bare-metal sizes, include accelerators like DSA, IAA, and QAT. The C7i family delivers up to 15% better price-performance than the C6i generation for compute-intensive workloads.
