r6a Instance Family
Description #
The memory-optimized R6A family, generally available since July 19, 2022, features 3rd Gen AMD EPYC 7R13 (Milan) processors with an all-core turbo up to 3.6 GHz. Built on the AWS Nitro System, these instances offer up to 50 Gbps enhanced networking and 40 Gbps of EBS bandwidth. They are SAP-certified and designed for memory-intensive workloads, supporting AMD TSME for always-on memory encryption. The largest and metal sizes also support Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) for low-latency communication.
