The M8A general-purpose instance family, generally available since October 8, 2025, is powered by 5th Generation AMD EPYC (Turin) processors with a maximum frequency of 4.5 GHz. Built on the AWS Nitro System, these instances provide up to 75 Gbps of network bandwidth and up to 60 Gbps of dedicated EBS bandwidth, with no local instance storage (EBS-only). A key feature is Instance Bandwidth Configuration (IBC) support, allowing flexible allocation of network and EBS resources. They are suitable for workloads like databases, application servers, and gaming, offering up to 30% higher performance than the M7a generation.
