m7i-flex Instance Family
Description #
The M7i-Flex instance family, generally available since August 2023, features custom 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Sapphire Rapids) and is an EBS-only, cost-optimized variant. These general-purpose instances deliver a baseline CPU performance with the ability to scale up, offering up to 12.5 Gbps of networking and up to 10 Gbps of EBS bandwidth. Built on the AWS Nitro System and utilizing DDR5 memory, they provide up to 19% better price/performance than M6i instances. They also include the Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) accelerator for improved performance in CPU-based machine learning workloads.
