r7a Instance Family
Description #
The memory-optimized R7A instance family, generally available since September 2023, is powered by 4th Gen AMD EPYC (Genoa) processors with a max frequency of 3.7 GHz. These instances are EBS-backed and utilize high-speed DDR5 memory, offering 2.25x more memory bandwidth than the R6a generation. They provide up to 50 Gbps of network bandwidth and up to 40 Gbps of EBS bandwidth, and feature a 1:1 vCPU to physical core mapping. This family is SAP-certified and ideal for high-performance, memory-intensive workloads.
