m9gd Instance Family
Description #
The M9GD instance family, announced in preview in December 2025, is powered by custom AWS Graviton5 processors featuring 192 Arm-based cores and a 5x larger L3 cache. These general-purpose instances include high-speed local NVMe SSD storage and offer up to 15% higher network bandwidth and 20% higher EBS bandwidth on average than previous generations. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they introduce the Nitro Isolation Engine for mathematically verified workload isolation, making them ideal for databases, gaming, and caching fleets.
