The M8g general-purpose instance family, generally available since September 25, 2024, is powered by AWS Graviton4 processors with Arm Neoverse-V2 cores, offering up to 30% better performance than the M7g generation. Built on the AWS Nitro System, these instances feature DDR5-5600 memory and are optimized for Amazon EBS. They provide up to 50 Gbps of enhanced networking bandwidth and up to 40 Gbps of dedicated bandwidth to Amazon EBS. Local NVMe SSDs are available on select larger sizes, making them ideal for application servers and microservices.
