r6in Instance Family
Description #
The R6in instance family, generally available since November 28, 2022, is memory-optimized and powered by 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Ice Lake) with a 3.5 GHz all-core turbo frequency. These instances deliver up to 200 Gbps of network bandwidth and up to 100 Gbps of EBS bandwidth, offering 2x more network performance than the R5n generation. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they are EBS-backed and support Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) on the r6in.32xlarge and r6in.metal sizes. They are ideal for memory-intensive applications like SAP HANA, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
