h1 Instance Family

The H1 instance family, launched on November 28, 2017, is designed for applications needing low-cost, high disk throughput, and high sequential disk I/O access to large datasets. These storage-optimized instances feature 2.3 GHz Intel Xeon E5 2686 v4 (Broadwell) processors. H1 instances offer up to 25 Gbps of network bandwidth and provide HDD-based instance storage, with the largest instance size (h1.16xlarge) offering 16 TB of storage. They are well-suited for MapReduce workloads, distributed file systems, and log processing applications.
