The C8G compute-optimized family, generally available since September 25, 2024, is powered by Arm-based AWS Graviton4 processors, providing up to 30% better performance over C7g instances. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they feature fast DDR5-5600 memory and are EBS-optimized, without local instance storage, for high-performance efficiency. They offer up to 50 Gbps of enhanced networking bandwidth and up to 40 Gbps to Amazon EBS, with Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) on 24xlarge and 48xlarge sizes. These instances are designed for demanding compute-intensive workloads like HPC, batch processing, and CPU-based machine learning inference.
