The C8i instance family, generally available since October 6, 2025, features custom Intel Xeon 6 processors with a sustained all-core turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz. These compute-optimized instances deliver up to 100 Gbps of networking bandwidth and 80 Gbps of EBS bandwidth. C8i instances do not offer instance storage. They are built on the AWS Nitro System and are ideal for compute-intensive workloads, offering improved price performance compared to previous generations.
