The memory-optimized R6G instance family, generally available since June 11, 2020, is powered by AWS Graviton2 processors using Arm Neoverse N1 cores. Built on the AWS Nitro System, they offer up to 25 Gbps of network bandwidth and up to 19 Gbps of dedicated EBS bandwidth. These instances do not include local NVMe storage but provide up to 40% better price-performance over comparable x86-based R5 instances. They are designed for memory-intensive workloads such as open-source databases and in-memory caches.
